WINE: 2020 Kruger-Rumpf Spatburgunder
REGION: Germany
BLEND: 100% Spatburgunder
ABV: 14%
NOTES:
Burgundy in France, Spatburgunder in Germany and Pinot Noir in the US (and most other parts of the world) - call it what you may, we’re talking about Rose made from Pinot Noir.
This wine is made in Germany but has such an influence of it’s neighboring region of Provence. It’s light, refreshing and has just a hint of flavors to keep you coming back for more. Anytime you see Trocken on the label, you know you are in good hands as that means dry. This dry rose from Germany fills your glass without overwhelming the pallet. Notes of freshly picked strawberries, a hint of melon rind and lingering acidity that makes this an easy rose with light cheeses, summer salads or just that summer sunshine. We liked this wine so much that we are patiently waiting for the 2021 vintage to make it over the pond so we can compare years and drink that pretty pink drink all season long.
